Description

hello everyone! i drew this a while ago in fact it was the fIRST EVER thing that i drew on my shiny new intuos5 tablet. (which was just a few months ago.)

after years and years of working on a dinky graphire4 tablet, i thought it fitting to practice by redrawing an old practice i'd done on my old graphire, so many years ago. the older drawing is actually in my scraps, which you can see heeeere. :3

approximately 5 years between the two drawings. i'd like to think i've improved a hair or two. :meow: i'll scrap a bit later. just wanted to share x)

You did improve a lot, don't even doubt it. Although the original piece was quite good too.
I do really like the color choice, this color pallet. The skin shading is very well done, same goes for the hair. So what I say is that you developed a good eye and intuition for shading.
I'd say this face type and expression is pretty original, I guess you won't find much references for that one. Good job here!
I love your Technique also, more like an impressionist style but with some sharp edge lines.
You could probably give eyes more contrast and brighter shades to gain attention, yet this could be your design idea, I dunno.
Overall that's a really nice artwork, I'd ignore even the incomplete sense with this guide lines.
I wish you further improvement with your art!
